A few thoughts and ramblings
Well I’m 6 songs away from fully releasing “Pile Driver”. Sept 13 is the final song. Double albums are crazy to write, produce, make videos etc.. then after the YT release dump, its on to streaming and then more promo. All for very little reward , not that I care much about reward (I have a good job, this is my hobby).
Next up, the album “What The?” goes into release, weekly. I’m pretty excited about this album, it includes many of my newer songs, and some from my unreleased song catalog that were remastered for some, and sometimes edited for length hehe. The album is slightly shorter, 16 songs, still in double album territory.
Song 1, “Planet Earth”, releases Saturday September 20 2025, 12:00AM (Midnight Friday if you prefer). It’s a story of our earthly journey. Deep huh lol. Yes, there is SINGING in the song, something I’m incorporating more and more in my music. I like how this number came out, it’s slower than my Thumpy Thumpy songs, and much more melodic. Watch for it, you will enjoy I’m sure.
Next up, after “What The?” will be the album “What Now!”. My current song potentials for this album are a bunch of Asian Instruments House beat songs that I’m quite fond of, but my thinking is they will be on a later album as they don’t really go with the “What Now!” idea. I do know it will include many songs that I’ve worked on in the past couple of months. It’s fun picking songs, then axing in favour of another one I just wrote.
For those interested in the process, I write music mostly from 6AMish to 7:30 in the morning on work days, then maybe a few hours in the evening fleshing it out more. Weekends I write when I can. I produce my music using FL Studio and Master them using the same. For me, writing when I first get up for the day is my most creative time of day, no idea why but there it is hehe.
All my songs I listen to dozens of times, after all I write them for me to listen to in the first place. If I were to estimate the time spent on one song, I would say 4 to 8 hours start to finish, if I include tweaking the songs after the dozens of playbacks in my car, my headphones and my monitors.
Some songs are easy to write, some not so much. Good or bad, I always finish the song before moving on to another. I learned early on if you don’t finish the song, you never will. Coming back to an unfinished song after a long period of time is problematic and usually if you do finish it then, it will sound like 2 songs as your frame of mind is different than when you first started the song.
Anyway, my previously released albums are on Spotify, Amazon Music, Deezer, and Apple music, and of course YouTube. All my songs are registered on SOCAN.COM and DistroKid is my music distributor. Current releasing albums will always be on YouTube release first as one song off the new album released per week. Occasionally I will dump a whole album, such as the next Thumpy Thumpy series album all at once. I do have enough material for the next Thumpy album but I haven’t decided when it will drop. Stay Tuned.
